Gurmat Vichar Sagar is an independent learning initiative dedicated to the traditional study of Sikh scriptures and related philosophical traditions.

My journey into scriptural study began within a traditional Sikh monastic environment, where I spent sixteen formative years immersed in the pronunciation, interpretation, and disciplined study of Sikh scriptures.

Alongside Sikh scriptural study, I have undertaken sustained study of Vedantic philosophy, Nyaya logic, and Sanskrit grammar under traditional teachers.

The training was rigorous and rooted in daily recitation, memorization, and extended hours of structured learning.

Scriptural & Philosophical Training

Over the years, my study included Guru Granth Sahib, Dasam Granth, Sarbloh Granth, and classical Sikh historical texts such as Sri Gurpratap Suraj and Sri Nanak Prakash.

Alongside Sikh scriptural study, I also received training in classical Indian philosophy and Sanskrit learning traditions.

This included sustained study of Vedanta, Nyaya, and Sanskrit grammar under traditional teachers, along with foundational texts such as:

  • Vichar Sagar
    Tark Sangrah
    Nyaya Siddhant Muktavali
    Laghu Siddhanta Kaumudi
Shankaracharya’s commentary on the Bhagavad Gita

This background allows me to engage with Sikh scripture while also understanding the wider philosophical context in which many of these traditions developed.

Current Teaching Work

I now teach structured online courses for English-speaking students around the world.

The courses focus on:

• Japji Sahib
• Jaap Sahib
• Selected Dasam Granth Banis
• Sikh historical texts
• Related philosophical foundations

The aim is to present these teachings faithfully while making them accessible to sincere students seeking deeper understanding.

Teaching Intention

Gurmat Vichar Sagar is intended as a space for serious study rather than casual overview.

The effort is to remain faithful to traditional sources while presenting the teachings with clarity for modern students who may not have direct access to these learning traditions.

The goal is simple:
to make authentic study of Sikh scripture available to sincere learners across the world.
